What is a Notice?

A notice is a short printed announcement. It is put up in a place where it is easily visible. 
  • A notice conveys information about a forthcoming event or passes on important information to people. It may ask them to do something in response to the message it conveys.
  • A notice is always issued by someone in authority or someone who is in charge of giving out information.
  • A notice conveys 'what, when, where 'and may include 'why and who(m)' too.

 Important information about notice 

  • Usually short, and Has only the most important details. 
  • Enclosed within a box. 
  • Written in Formal language. 
  • Written in the third person. 
  • Mostly in the present tense, with an occasional use of the future tense 
  • Usually in the passive voice. 

Every notice includes.

  • The date of issue on the top left. 
  • The topic or subject of the notice at the top center.
  • The name (and signature or seal) of the person issuing the notice. 

A Notice may

  • Include the name of the institution at the very top.
  • Present information in complete sentences or in brief, clear columns.

  • Body to the notice 
  • Last and final step signature and designation

Auditions for Annual Day Drama

The Art Club invites applications from secondary school students for the annual day drama to be held on 25 October 2022. Students interested in participating are requested to submit their names to the Vice Principal on or before 17 October. 
The Art Club will conduct an audition to shortlist the actors on 22 October , and rehearsals will begin on 24 October.
